Who is Jesus?

Friend, have you met Jesus?...

I am not talking about seeing a representation of Him on a stained glass window, or hearing His name preached on Christian television, or even going to an altar call and repeating a prayer.

I am asking you have you come face to face with the Son of God?...please take a few minutes to think about this before answering.

I want you to know that Jesus loves you. I mean He really, really loves you. He is madly in love with you. And all He wants, more than anything else, is to come into your life and spend the rest of eternity showing you just how much He really does love you.

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Jesus does not just tell us He loves us, but He proved it by dying on a cross for us. By dying a slow and painfully brutal death for you and me. But why did He die?

You see, God is holy. Habakkuk 1:13 says, "Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing". God is so holy that He cannot even look on sin. Light and darkness cannot coexist and neither could God and sinners. For Isaiah 59:2 tells us this, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." Our sins separated us from God. The New Testament also tells us "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

But because God loves the world (every human being regardless of race, sex, and any other characteristic/trait) and wanted to pour out His love into our hearts (Romans 5:5), He created a plan for us to be able to spend the rest of eternity with Him.

God knew that we could never in a million plus years be able to remove our own sins so He sent His only Son to Earth to live a sinless life and die paying the penalty of sin in our stead (2 Corinthians 5:21).

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:6-8).

So Jesus became a perfect and sinless sacrifice for each one of us to take away all of our sins. Psalm 103:12 states, "As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." That means that Jesus paid the price. His blood was shed on that cross and because He lived a sinless life, He was able to make atonement (make amends) for all of our sins and reconcile us back to the Father at the same time making us a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17-18). Salvation is God's free gift to each and every one of us.

So if you're asking yourself, "what must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30), it's a very simple answer that is given in the very next verse, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved". (vs 31)

Salvation is only found through the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). And to be able to receive this free gift this is what we must do...

"For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved" (Romans 10:10).

Jesus wants to love you. He is inviting you to spend the rest of eternity with Him. Will you accept Him? Will you allow Him to love you for the rest of your life and eternity?...He desperately wants you to say yes! Will you?

If you would like to accept Jesus to come and be the Lord and Savior of your life, please repeat this prayer out loud (right where you are) from the bottom of your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I love You. I never want to be apart from You again. I am so so sorry for everything I have done. I am sorry for all my sins. I believe with all my heart that You are the Son of God and the only way to the Father. I want You to come into my life right now and never leave me. I want to spend the rest of eternity with You. I want You to know that I love you and I receive your love right now. Amen.

Friend, if you prayed this prayer I want you to know that God heard that prayer. Not only did He hear your cry but there is a big celebration in Heaven because of you right now (Luke 15:7)! Know that from this moment forward, all your sins are gone. They never happened and Jesus is anxiously looking forward to being a part of every day of your life. He loves you more than you and I will ever know. All we have to do is accept His love and walk in it.

Sin Will Not Have Dominion!

" For sin shall no longer be your master , because you are not under the law but under grace..." -Romans 6:14      There is a common unspoken belief amongst Christians that we cannot overcome sin. That somehow the victory that Jesus purchased is only enough to cleanse our sins yet not to give us power over them. I say unspoken because most would not openly admit to this belief, yet our actions agree to it. We go through life with this invisible sign on our backs that says  "I will try my best to live a godly Christian life because since I was born in sin, all I can really do is try and because God knows I'm only human, He won't expect anything more from me." Yet the death and resurrection of Jesus did more than just wipe our slate clean. God not only defeated death and sin but also gave us believers the power to overcome those very sins which once enslaved us (1 Cor 6:11). And not just some small sins either, the cross gives us power over all manner of...

Open Wounds

"He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering , and familiar with pain . Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem ." - Isaiah 53:3      I remember feeling extremely confused at first. Had I said something hurtful? Perhaps I had forgotten her birthday or broken a promise previously made? I did not remember having done/said anything to cause offense yet she refused to continue the friendship without so much as an explanation. I was around 8 maybe 9 years old when my one and only friend (for reasons unbeknownst to me as of this day) decided to call it quits! I had recently immigrated to the States with my family and spoke little English. This girl, being the only Spanish speaker in my grade, had quickly become my best  friend. Yet the friendship ended both quickly and abruptly. After replaying the days events and crying beyond consolation, I learned what rejection truly felt like. Whether it's the loss ...

I believe in Miracles!

" And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever He chose ." -Hebrews 2:4 Have you ever asked God for something big in your life? Maybe financial freedom, bodily healing, or the dream of having a child. The prayers that seem biggest to us are truly nothing for God. But many times we forget that. In the midst of our tear-filled prayers, we act as if our requests are too hard, complex, or big for even God Himself. And if this line of thinking is prolonged, our doubts will fool us into believing that perhaps God does not want to answer our prayers...that miracles are a thing of ages past. But the record of Scripture shows a different picture. All throughout God's Word we see a God who brings water from a rock (Ex 17:5-6), fights against our enemies (2 Kings 19:35), and heals those fighting illnesses and in bondage to evil spirits (Matt 8:16). We, through our own weakness and unbelief, oftentimes place G...
